She attended high school in Dighton, Kansas and Delores, Colorado and business college in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was bookkeeper and cashier for the Western Light and Power Company in Ness City, KS, Harper, KS and Caldwell, KS for seven years. She married Cyrus Fields Baker in Caldwell, on October 14, 1934. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Research Club GFWC of Kansas and Chapter #382 of the Order of Eastern Star in Caldwell. After moving to Wichita she transferred her church membership to First Presbyterian Church, Wichita and was active in Luccoch Sunday School Class and Rebekah Circle. In 1998, she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Valley Center Ward. She leaves one sister, Velma Alice Petersilie of San Francisco, CA and half-sister, Marilyn Jean Penkhus of Colorado Springs and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Fields Baker on November 8, 1979; her parents and step-father Evan Lee McKinley; one brother, William G. Nuttle of Columbus, KS; three half sisters, Orin Stacey McKinley of Delores, CO, Willard Wade McKinley of Colorado Springs and Eugene Leland McKinley of American Samoa.
