A resident of Ulysses, he was a certified FAA airplane mechanic, had worked at Beech Aircraft, owned a John Deere Agency in Cimarron and was an automotive service manager at Anderson Motors and Riley Chevrolet, Ulysses, until retiring. He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, was a Master Mason, a member of Ulysses Rotary Club and was involved with the Grant County Senior Center and the Silver Haired Legislature. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. On Aug. 14, 1943, he married Geraldine "Jerry" Parks in Wichita. He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, Kenneth, Warren and Leonard; and a sister, Velda Monninger.
