Her father was a minister, taking a position in Prairie Center, KS when she was a young lady. She married her husband of 62 years, Eldon Gordon on Aug. 11, 1935 in Prairie Center and lived in Jo. Co. area for the rest of her life. She was an active member of the Gardner Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday school teacher and church pianist. She was a piano teacher and an accomplished musician, admired for her talent. Preceded in death by husband, Eldon in 1997; parents and brother, Lowell Thornburg.
