A lifetime resident of La Crosse, he was employed for 19 years at La Crosse Furniture Factory. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola.

Erni, Rebecca Cole 12-22-1917 7-30-2005 b. Neosho Rapids ks Lyon co, d. Lyons ks Rice co, D/O Edward and Gertrude Timken Rages. She graduated in 1935, from Bazine High School, attended Fort Hays State University, graduated from the University of Kansas and received her MBA from Denver University. A resident of Lyons, moving from Topeka, she was a teacher at Bison and La Crosse High Schools and Littleton High School, Littleton, Colo. She belonged to Lowman Methodist Church, Topeka, Delta Pi Epsilon, NEA, and Alpha Delta Kappa.In 1942, she married Fenton B. Cole. He died in 1959. On June 29, 1975, she married Clarence Erni. He died in 1996. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harold Rages.
