Holthaus, Joan Marie 6-3-1964 12-15-2005 b. wichita, d. topeka ks shawnee co, D/O Wilbur and Mary Armstrong Kruse in Wichita, where she lived until graduating from Kansas State University. Joan was a teacher at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic School for 20 years. She was voted Outstanding Teacher in Topeka in 1996 and was the Kansas Young Mother of the Year in 1995. She has been associated with the American Diabetes Assoc. Camp Discovery for 30 years.
Holzmeister, Robert G.
10-20-1918 2-17-2005 b. & d. Topeka Ks Shawnee co, S/O George Jacob Holzmeister and Amelia Hertlein. He attended grade school in Oelwin, Iowa, and graduated from Topeka Catholic High School (now Hayden High School). He attended Washburn University and Kansas University. He married Mary Lee Fitzpatrick on April 17, 1942 in Topeka, Kansas at Holy Name Church. He worked for the State of Kansas, Boyle-Midway Co., New York, New York and was district sales manager. He worked for Willson-Lowe Marketing Company of Kansas City as District Sales Manager. Later, he started his own food brokerage company, Capitol Brokerage Company. He retired in 1980.He served in the Boy Scouts of America for 20 years as an adult leader and received numerous Scouting Awards; he also served as assistant Cub Scout leader, assistant Boy Scout Troop leader, assistant District Commissioner, District Commissioner and District Chairman. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus (Lifetime Honorary Member), Past President of Allied Food Club of Topeka, Charter Member of Serra Club of Topeka and member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Topeka. He was a World War II, Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Sarasota.
Rome, Marianne Elisabeth 3-30-1937 9-24-2005 b. Sweden, d. Hutchinson ks Reno co, She in Visby, Sweden, the daughter of Ake and Dagmar Elisabeth Bloch Grauers. She graduated high school in 1954, from Landskruna, Sweden, in 1959, from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, attended Kansas City Community College and Bethany College, Lindsborg. A resident of Hutchinson since 1961, moving from Lawrence, she was the former co-owner of Kinder House, and Boutique La Rome Children's Wear.
She belonged to Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross Ladies Altar Society, and Delta Gamma Sorority.
