He was owner and operator of Seyb-Tucker Lumber and Implement, Johnson. He belonged to First United Methodist Church, Johnson Rotary, Come Join Us Sunday school class, and Men's Breakfast Group and was a Boy Scout leader for Troop No. 145. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Navy Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. On May 4, 1944, he married Ruby J. Oser at Great Bend. She died March 16, 2004. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Constance Jean; a brother, Wendell; and a sister, Wilma Fiss Cockreham.
