Strip Cemetery
Hale County

Tombstone Photographs

Strip Cemetery, which is a very old cemetery (1800's) is still active today. There are approximately 300 graves, most of which are marked. The cemetery is out in the middle of cotton fields, but has many evergreen trees and is a very well kept cemetery. There is no evidence of vandalism or mistreatment of graves or tombstones. One must travel country dirt roads to reach it and it is out in the middle of "nowhere". It is not locked but you must open a gate to go in.
