Tombstone Photo Project

Let's work together in this endeavor! This Project is about remembering our dead and preserving our history!!! Volunteer to walk and record a Utah cemetery by sending me a message giving the NAME OF THE CEMETERY, the COUNTY, and the NAME(S) OF THE PERSON/PEOPLE who will be doing the transcribing. If you have already transcribed cemetery data and would like for your work to become part of this project, just let me know. Or, help out by going to your local church or mortuary and getting a copy of their cemetery records.

Partial cemetery transcriptions are also welcome!
For every 1,000 people using this site there is about one new volunteer.

Register a cemetery today!!!

By registering, you are volunteering to:
1. transcribe (walk and record) a cemetery (or)
2. volunteering to transcribe from scanned to CD microfilmed records. Some records go back to 1930s (or)
3. Clean up and beautify the grounds. (or)
4. Contact local people about missing burial grounds, especially family cemeteries (or)
5. Do digital photographing of gravemarkers.

You can recruit some people to help out. Get youth groups involved (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Young Men/Young Women, similiar groups, even senior citizens who want to go out.)

Cemetery files in .txt format (best) should be submitted to
W. David Samuelsen

Other file formats: I will do my best to convert your files to plain text format.
Whenever possible, try to go to: File/Save As/ then change the format to text (.txt) which will expedite posting of your cemetery.
